Manager Engineering Documentation (Finance)
Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Engineering PMO, the Engineering Document Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Engineering Electronic Document Management System (EEDMS) for the portfolio of our facilities and our engineering projects. The role interfaces with external providers, ensuring compliance with electronic engineering documentation guidelines and coordinating activities such as procedures, CAD specifications, meetings, and documentation formats.
The manager liaises autonomously with Project Managers, Engineers, Finance, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and Purchasing to align stakeholders on engineering documentation maintenance and control.
Key responsibilities include developing, maintaining, monitoring, training, and communicating the electronic documentation management systems and processes to users and stakeholders. Occasional presentations to Engineering or Sterigenics Management are required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Overall Engineering Document Management
- Manage the electronic engineering document management system (EEDMS)
- Act as an informal team leader in cross‑functional departments as the SME on facility drawings and engineering documentation.
- Own, drive, develop, recommend, and lead the collection of technical drawings (architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical) and incorporate this information into site as‑built drawings, schematics, and maps.
- Maintain records of engineering drawings with version control using the EEDMS.
- Work with internal customers and the engineering team to ensure proper filing and storage of electronic engineering documents.
- Develop corporate standards for engineering documents, including naming conventions, file structure, formatting, and CAD layering.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define EEDMS requirements for future upgrades.
Capital (CAPEX) Project Document Management
Participate in project kick‑off meetings and assist with project delivery; prepare and approve engineering document management plans.Support capital projects by providing updated or new drawings.Interface with Operations, EHS, and Quality to ensure project engineering documents are entered into the EEDMS and available for validation.Vendor & Contractor Document Management
Manage vendor documents for capital projects, confirming transmittals, logging into the tracking database, and routing packages to reviewers.Set electronic document requirements for contracting partners such as engineering and construction companies.Ensure “As‑Built” drawings are received from vendors / contractors.Oversee conversion of as‑built markups to CAD drawings (red‑to‑black).Electronic Engineering Document Specification and Formatting
Ensure all drawings and materials meet Sterigenics specifications and standards.Modify drawings in CAD systems when necessary.Safety
Ensure all engineering and contractor activities comply with applicable company EH&S standards.People / Personal

Ensure engineering documents are version‑controlled and available for change control using the Management of Change (MOC) process, adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).Manage the drawing change control process.Experience and Skills Required
Associate degree in a technical discipline; bachelor’s preferred.6+ years of experience in document management with an emphasis on technical documentation.Experience supporting multiple projects (portfolio).Ability to develop or modify CAD drawings; thorough knowledge of CAD systems, libraries, and layering approaches.Experience developing procedures and processes related to electronic document management.Proficiency with AUTOCAD, SolidWorks, Bluebeam, and REVIT in facilities engineering / design.FDA / GMP knowledge preferred.Working knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical, machine design, architectural, civil, and construction drawings.Adherence to quality standards and maintenance of policies and procedures.Strong problem‑solving skills : define problems, gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions.Autonomous and critical‑thinking abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, and Adobe.Effective presentation skills for one‑to‑one and group settings.Occasional travel can be expected, averaging 15–20%.

Salary Range : $100,500 – $173,500
