Job Description

The Cost Accountant will analyze, process, maintain, and report transactions primarily involving fixed assets, inventory, general ledger, and machine costing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
• Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
• Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Coordinate, process, and analyze production data monthly from ERP SAP system.
• Support person to assist planners with closing production orders.
• Develop reporting machine costs quarterly cadence.
• Work with Engineering / Product Management / Purchasing cost development new machines.
• Manage Automation projects book / reconcile revenue recognition based on validation costs monthly.
• Set up / maintain internal projects for new product initiatives.
• Provide support Engineering to ensure labor hours are being booked to projects consistently and timely.
• Calculate, enter, and post transactions to the SAP General Ledger.
• Provide supporting schedules, reconciliations, and roll forward worksheets for various General Ledger Accounts.
• Accounting cross functional team member for item master additions / changes.
• Assist in the audit / reconciliation of the physical inventory with Operations.
• Backup to the Senior Cost Accountant.
• Assists with related special projects, as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
