Position Summary
The Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing IT architecture models and their detailed components. The EA interprets and applies architectural information to support business improvement initiatives, including design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of IT systems.
The EA ensures IT systems architecture remains coherent, secure, and aligned with organizational strategies, policies, and standards. This role spans business, application, data, and technology architecture perspectives.
Essential Job Functions
- Direct the overall IT / technology architecture activities.
- Recommend and participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture.
- Manage and maintain IT / technology architecture models.
- Research IT solutions in the market based on business requirements and needs.
- Manage third-party vendor relationships, including due diligence and implementation oversight.
- Provide recommendations on third-party packaged or cloud solutions.
- Implement strategies for IT / technology architecture work.
- Participate in meetings with clients and partners regarding designated projects.
- Recommend and contribute to long-term enterprise strategic and operating plans.
- Share best practices and lessons learned; update technical system architecture based on evolving technologies.
- Establish and lead Architecture Working Groups for maintaining the company's IT applications architecture.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to review solution objectives and constraints; ensure alignment with EA standards.
- Recommend suitable high-level technical architectures.
- Identify areas for further study and participate in Proof-of-Concept initiatives.
- Identify implementation risks and analyze their potential impact.
- Recommend and participate in the design and implementation of standards, tools, and methodologies.
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Design or Computer Science preferredProject Management certification is a plusExperience / Minimum Requirements
10+ years of related experienceCertifications in two or more of the following :MCSE, MCSD, MCTS, CCNA, Java, Linux, OracleExperience as the technical lead for major technology implementationsExperience with Mergers & Acquisitions integration projects preferredOther Skills & Abilities
