We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Plymouth, Michigan. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in vendor payments and financial transactions. Responsibilities :

Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding and compliance with organizational policies.

Verify and reconcile accounts payable transactions to maintain accurate financial records.

Prepare and execute payment batches, including Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers and check runs.

Address and resolve invoice discrepancies by collaborating with vendors and internal departments.

Maintain up-to-date vendor records and ensure all documentation is organized and accessible.

Assist in financial audits by providing required documentation and reconciling data as needed.

Monitor expense reports for accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.

Ensure timely payments to vendors to maintain positive relationships and avoid disruptions.

Collaborate with other departments to support budget adherence and compliance with policies.

Utilize accounting software to streamline processes and improve efficiency in accounts payable operations.

Requirements :

Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.

Strong knowledge of account coding and invoice processing.

Proficiency in handling Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools to manage financial processes.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

Effective communication skills to address vendor inquiries and internal collaboration.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.

Background in accounting or a related field is preferred.
