Facilities Manager
Responsibilities :
Management of the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the school's facilities and grounds, including main campus, Northcote farm campus and all LCS owned near campus properties
Manage, lead, mentor and support the facilities team + occasional workers / summer students
Manage and supervise the work of contractors and sub trades : review job quotes, negotiate and manage contracts and authorize payments in accordance with LCS purchasing policies
Prepare and monitor an operating budget of +$2M annually
Assist in the preparation and oversight of +$1.5M capex budget annually
Management of building management and capital planning system
Oversee design, estimating and bidding for major capital building projects
LCS site representative for approved major capital projects
Oversee the work of architects and other project consultants as required
Chair the Health and Safety Committee
Sit as a member of the school's Risk Management committee and Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT)
Responsible for campus security, lockdown / fire protocols and emergency response
Work with LCS management to plan for a future facilities replacement program and development in line with the school's campus master plan and 10-year strategic plan
Lead the school in its quest in environmental sustainability, including all aspects of energy conservation and waste management
Qualifications and Education :
Post-secondary education or certificate in engineering, architecture, building design, facilities management, project management, or other related area
A minimum of 7 years of direct related professional experience
Proven experience in managing direct staff reports and subcontractors
Strong technical skills in the building, mechanical or electrical trades and / or engineering profession
Practical problem solving, planning and analytical abilities
Broad knowledge of all elements of facilities operations and grounds management
Excellent leadership and people skills, a team builder and consensus seeker
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask, manage time effectively and prioritize competing demands
Exceptional computer and IT skills; project management software, Autocad
Proven success in the use of technology in facilities and building management
Familiar with construction practices and procurement models
Familiar with construction law, AODA legislation, Health and Safety legislation
JHSC member certification, or JHSC experience with the ability to certify

Salary Range : $75, to $, per annum ($3, - $4, semi-monthly)
