Greene County Health Care is a Community Health Center providing comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services for members of our communities in Greene, Pitt and Pamlico counties in eastern North Carolina.

Job Summary

The Dental Hygienist provides prophylactic care and preventative treatment to dental patients of Greene County Health Care, Inc.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provides prophylactic care and preventive care, including topical fluoride and application of occlusal sealants.
• Exposes and develops radiographs.
• Provides oral hygiene education to patients on an individual basis and in groups when feasible and appropriate.
• Assures hazardous chemicals are labeled and proper Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are on file
• Develops educational programs with the Dental Director.
• Participates in continuing education on and off site as feasible and appropriate.
• Assists chair-side in delivery of dental treatment when other staff are out or when heavy patient load exists to include cleaning and readying dental operatories.
• Takes alginate impressions, pours and trim study models.
