Shipping And Receiving Supervisor
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of products within a designated facility. This role involves supervising a team of Shipper / Receivers, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, and implementing efficient shipping and receiving procedures.
This position reports directly to the Shipping & Receiving Manager.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the day-to-day activities of the Shipping and Receiving team, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and adherence to company standards.
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, and processing of incoming products, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, and documentation.
- Manage the storage and organization of products within the warehouse or cooler areas to optimize space and maintain product integrity.
- Ensure that all shipping procedures are followed accurately, including the timely dispatch of goods to the correct destinations.
- Monitor inventory levels, track back-orders, and manage short-listed items to maintain a consistent product flow.
- Lead team members in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Work closely with the Shipping & Receiving Manager to develop and implement improvements in shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
- Train and mentor new and existing team members, providing guidance on proper processes, equipment usage, and safety standards.
- Address and resolve any shipping or receiving issues, ensuring that product orders are completed on time and meet customer expectations.
- Assist in the planning of large shipments, ensuring that appropriate space and resources are available for incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of goods received and shipped, reporting on key performance metrics and operational status to management.
- Ensure proper use of forklifts, inventory equipment (e.g., scan guns), and other tools by team members, and ensure that all equipment is in safe working condition.
