SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST - SLP - School

Experience success from day one as a Speech-Language Pathologist at a school district in Orlando, FL that will equip you to succeed! This full-time position offers a Monday through Friday schedule for the 2024-25 school year .

Ideal candidates will have recent school, early childhood, or pediatrics experience, excel in independent time management and a fast-paced environment, and have excellent communication skills .

This district understands the importance of a supportive network of SLPs and leadership and makes that very readily available.

PAY :

$1,612 / weekly gross

$43 / hourly

37.5 hours / week

MORE ABOUT THE SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST POSITION :

Responsibilities for this Speech Language Pathologist opportunity include, but are not limited to :

  • Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement
  • Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and hearing handicapped children
  • Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring to suspected and identified speech and language impairments
  • Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of articulation, voice, hearing, stuttering, and language impairments
  • Provides screening to identify speech-handicapped children at regular intervals and specified levels
  • Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and to correct existing speech or language handicaps
  • Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by making suggestions for the student's daily activities
  • Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate
  • Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school members on topics concerning speech improvement
  • Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST :

  • Successful completion of National Certification Examination
  • 1+ years of recent pediatrics / school-based experience preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Valid SLP license in FL
  • ASHA certification
