Senior Back End Software Engineer (Java, Scala, Fi-Core)

About Us :

The Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) team is at the heart of Capital One, developing crucial enterprise platforms and establishing best practices for building superior technology solutions across the organization.

Your Role :

Work closely with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.

Stay ahead of emerging tech trends, experiment with new technologies, engage in technology communities, and mentor fellow engineers.

Partner with digital product managers to build robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans to achieve financial wellness.

Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, along with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and various AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree.

Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience (internships do not apply).

Preferred Qualifications :

Over 5 years of experience in Java or Scala.

At least 1 year of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

1+ years of experience in Banking or Fi-Core.

Over 3 years of experience with open-source frameworks.

2+ years of experience in Agile methodologies.

Location Salary Range : McLean, VA : $158,600 - $181,000; Richmond, VA : $144,200 - $164,600. Actual salary will depend on location and experience.
