We're seeking a driven, customer-focused Sales Representative to join our growing insurance agency in Columbus, GA. In this role, you'll build and manage a pipeline of prospects, recommend coverage based on needs analysis, close new business, and retain / expand existing accounts. Success looks like consistent production, excellent client experience, and strong retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect via phone, email, text, social, walk-ins, and community events to generate qualified leads.
- Conduct needs assessments; educate clients on coverage options (Auto, Home, Renters, Umbrella, Commercial lines; Life / Health if licensed).
- Prepare quotes, present recommendations, and bind policies in compliance with carrier / GA DOI guidelines.
- Cross-sell and up-sell to increase policy count, premium, and household penetration.
- Manage renewals, remarket when appropriate, and drive retention through proactive outreach.
- Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and policy data in the agency CRM / management system.
- Meet or exceed monthly KPIs (e.g., policies written, premium, quote-to-bind, retention, NPS).
- Resolve service inquiries (endorsements, billing, claims support) with urgency and professionalism.
- Stay current on product changes, underwriting guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Represent the agency at local events; build referral partnerships with realtors, auto dealers, mortgage pros, and small businesses.
Qualifications
Required
1–3+ years of sales experience (insurance, financial services, or related consultative sales).Strong communication, objection handling, and closing skills; comfortable with outbound outreach.Tech-savvy with CRM / AMS tools and quoting platforms; detail-oriented and compliant.High integrity, self-starter mentality, and team player.Licensing (choose the option that fits your hiring plan)
Option A (Preferred / Immediate Production) : Active Georgia Property & Casualty license (Life & Health a plus).Option B (Will Sponsor) : Unlicensed candidates considered; must obtain GA P&C license within 30–45 days of hire (agency-supported).Preferred
Prior success in P&C personal lines; commercial lines or Life / Health experience is a plus.Local market knowledge and an existing network in the Columbus / Phenix City area.Schedule
Monday–Friday, standard business hours; occasional evenings / weekends for community events as needed.On-site with flexibility for hybrid after training / performance.How to Apply
