Essential Functions

• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
• Meets with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
• Consult with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
• Review manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes with management, engineering, and other staff
• Statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements that includes capability studies
• Work with cross-functional team to support mfg, QC, PC and maintenance teams
• Machine set-up and validation, including mold changes, material changes, and machine condition adjustments.
• Support auxiliary equipment set-up, such as off-load robot, dryer, mixer, etc.
• Evaluate and recommend new technology or ideas for production improvement (kaizen).
• Qualify new products by performing machine capability and creating process sheets.
• Work with cross functional team to improve processes, increase efficiency and utilization, and reduce scrap and downtime.
• Support Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Die Maintenance departments with troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Obtain vendor quotes for new molds, new machinery, or equipment modifications and installation.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area according to 5S.
• Train and support machine operators as needed.
