About Miami Correctional Facility
The Miami Correctional Facility is a maximum-security correctional facility for adult males located in Bunker Hill, Indiana. It is part of the Indiana Department of Correction and promotes public safety by providing meaningful, effective re-entry opportunities. The facility offers educational programs, including a Braille translation program and a sewing shop that provides items for partner organizations.
Role Overview
As a Correctional Officer at the Miami Correctional Facility, you will work as part of a team in a maximum security IDOC facility. During a typical 12-hour shift you will maintain the security of the unit and the safety of staff and incarcerated individuals, while ensuring daily activities and programs proceed on schedule. The position requires working 85.75 hours during the two-week pay period, with shifts scheduled across seven total shifts, including one weekend shift.
Salary
This position starts at a $22 / hour base pay plus $2 / hour differential pay, equaling $2,058.00 biweekly or $53,508.00 annually. Candidates with relevant experience may qualify for higher base pay. These figures do not account for overtime.
