About the Opportunity :
We're currently seeking an FPI Inspector (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) and MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection to join our team at our Prescott-based manufacturing facility. In this role, you'll be responsible for performing non-destructive testing (NDT) using FPI / MPI Inspection methods to ensure the structural integrity and quality of aerospace components. This is a critical quality assurance role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to maintaining the highest inspection standards. This is an Onsite position.
Responsibilities :
Perform FPI / MPI in accordance with NADCAP and customer specifications
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, inspection standards, and part documentation.
- Conduct pre-cleaning, application of penetrant, dwell time, emulsification, and development processes
- Visually inspect components under UV light to detect discontinuities, cracks, or other defects.
- Accurately record inspection results and complete documentation required for part traceability and quality assurance.
- Maintain a daily log of all parts processed
- Thorough understanding of surface preparation processes on a variety of metal material
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of NDT equipment and materials.
- Follow established safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming parts as needed.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly with production, engineering, and quality teams.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection area in accordance with 5S and Lean practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits, as required.
- Contribute to a continuous improvement environment by suggesting ideas and process enhancements.
- Employees are expected to work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations, including wearing required personal protective equipment, reporting any missing or defective safety equipment, and notifying a supervisor of any hazards or potential violations to help maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent requiredStrong understanding of aerospace specifications and quality requirementsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and process instructionsFamiliar with industry codes, standards, and procedures for non-destructive testingBasic computer skills and experience with inspection documentation systemsCommitment to workplace safety and compliance with health and safety regulationsExcellent visual acuity and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentGood communication and teamwork skillsPreferred Qualifications :
Aerospace and / or manufacturing experienceStrong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process optimization tools to drive efficiency and readiness.WHMIS or other workplace safety training certificationsNADCAP FPI / MPI experienceKnowledge of other NDT methods (e.g., UT, RT) is an assetExperience working in a fast-paced environment requiring you to pivot and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate with team members, supervisors, and delivery personnel to ensure accurate and timely shipments.Certified Level 2 in FPI / MPI (in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410, or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of FPI / MPI inspection experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environmentMaterial handling equipment experienceExperience assigning bin locations and managing part traceabilityAbility to contribute ideas for process or efficiency improvementsPhysical Requirements :
Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visionComfortable working with chemicals and in UV-light environments with proper safeguards.Compensation & Benefits :
