DoD Mission Systems Architect
V2X is growing! V2X is looking for a DoD Mission Systems Architect to join our team!
This position is essential as a DoD-focused Solutions Architect for mission systems, tasked with developing a solutions architecture from ambiguous guidance and providing a clear, actionable vision from the conceptual design phase through to product completion. The role involves synthesizing various requirements from DoD requirements officers, BAA, RFI, and other requests to develop a solution architecture that aligns business capabilities with V2X planned technology development efforts. This role drives both technical and business solution development to shape and respond to future RFIs and RFPs, requiring leadership over multi-discipline engineering teams and integration with all aspects of the V2X business.
Other responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Engagement with DoD acquisition and technical customers on roadmap development and requirement maturation for tactical systems supporting platforms in multiple domains
- Provide Technical leadership for RFI / RFP responses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, architecture, and design.
- Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, including system diagrams, interface specifications, and technical standards.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, components, and tools for system development.
- Ensure compliance with defense standards, regulations, and security protocols.
- Lead system integration efforts, working closely with software engineers, hardware designers, and other stakeholders.
- Engagement with business development and Program Area Chief Engineer on shaping business strategy.
- Engagement with customers, teammates, and suppliers for technology and pursuit development.
- Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in system testing, validation, and verification activities.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to defense market and specifically V2X business area
Required Skills :
Minimum of 10 years related experience in systems, software, or hardware engineeringExperience in engaging and shaping vision with DoD requirements officers and system ownersExperience with DoD platforms, weapons, avionics, or tactical systemsDeep understanding and application of Model Based Systems Engineering methods, tools and languagesExperience with digital engineering transformation activities and modern product development methodsExperience with various DoD data interfaces including unique to vehicles and weaponsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExtensive experience in capture management : creating / reviewing RFPs, SOWs, BOEs, tech volumes, proposalsDemonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with multiple levels of management and individual contributors on teamsExperience on DoD Internal Research and Development (IRAD, Customer Research and Development (CRAD), Technical Demonstration (TD), System Development and Demonstration (SDD) or Engineering, Manufacturing, & Development (EMD) ProgramsAbility to provide technical leadership and to work within an IPT that includes engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance and other disciplinesDemonstrated sound ethical values built upon trust, respect, accountability, collaboration and innovation.Must be a US Citizen with a DoD Secret level clearanceDesired Skills :
Demonstrated successful military vehicle and weapon system integration experienceDemonstrated strong understanding of Network and / or RF communication principlesExperience within Army acquisitionDemonstrated understanding of Radar principlesExperience using DOORS, MagicDraw, or other requirements management and system architecture toolsExperience with DoD development processCurrent / active DoD Secret level or higher clearanceDesired Certifications :
