We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Tonawanda, New York. In this role, you will focus on managing commercial accounts and maintaining client relationships, ensuring timely and effective resolution of outstanding balances. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for skill development and growth in the financial services industry.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee a portfolio of 400-550 commercial accounts, ensuring timely and efficient collection efforts.
- Communicate directly with clients via written and verbal updates regarding the status of accounts.
- Conduct skip tracing to locate customers and resolve outstanding claims as needed.
- Refer accounts to legal counsel when necessary, following company protocols.
- Participate actively in monthly department meetings, sharing insights and updates.
- Contribute to office projects, contests, and other team-building activities.
- Engage in ongoing training programs, seminars, and online courses to enhance skills and expertise.
- Collaborate with team leaders and management to identify and implement process improvements.
- Foster and develop strong working relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Provide guidance and motivation to team members, setting a high standard through leadership.
- Previous experience in business-to-business (B2B) collections or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interaction.
- Proficiency in skip tracing techniques and familiarity with legal processes for collections.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience participating in and contributing to team meetings and collaborative projects.
- Commitment to ongoing development through training and educational programs.
- Proven ability to build and sustain positive client relationships.
