American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position with trauma level 1 experience and night shift requirements.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Cardiac Telemetry unit of an acute care hospitalCare for post-op cardiovascular surgery patients including CABG, MVR, STEMI, heart failure, fundoplication, VATS decortication, and vascular repairNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 3 or 1 : 4Perform titration of drips including Heparin, Cardizem, and AmiodaroneTele Techs monitor off-unit; RNs must interpret common rhythms using GE tele packs and monitorsUses Cerner for electronic medical records12-hour night shifts with self-scheduling allowedRequired to work 3 weekend shifts per 4-week block and 2 out of 4 major holidaysFloating required to other applicable areasNo call or standby requirementsPersonal vehicle needed for travel teamsProvide care to post-operative cardiac patients requiring cardiac telemetry and complex medication managementCharge nurse functions as a resource and ideally does not take assignmentsOne patient care technician for every 16 beds supports the unitOrientation includes a two-day unit-specific training plus a SIMs lab pass / fail assessment on day oneFirst-time travelers are considered if all requirements are metHoliday and weekend coverage is required as scheduled\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent RN experience requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredLevel 1 trauma experience is requiredMust pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, with two attempts permittedMust pass a skills assessment on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on day 1Must be able to titrate cardiac drips and interpret telemetry rhythmsAdherence to navy blue scrub dress code; scrubs not providedMust have natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testingMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as verified by driver’s licenseReturning candidates must not have worked at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year\n Benefits\n
