Overview
Are you excited to provide best in class client experience to our customer base? You will be the Letter of Credit Product Advisor - Vice President within the Commercial Bank, partnering with Commercial bankers on relationship management and product delivery for the Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) offering. You will own a complex product and manage the end-to-end process to ensure high-quality service and an excellent client experience.
Responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of clients and build strong relationships with customers and internal banking teams dedicated to your portfolio.
- Advise US Commercial Bank customers and bankers on Letter of Credit structuring and setup.
- Set expectations around product delivery and support the end-to-end Letter of Credit execution.
- Lead the Letter of Credit process with clear guidance and transparency for clients.
- Act as a trusted advisor for any Letter of Credit situations within your portfolio.
- Coordinate with internal, cross-regional teams (Banking, Trade Finance Client Service / Ops, Credit, Legal, and others) to ensure efficient LC execution.
- Coordinate the LC process across the Commercial Bank’s customer base during onboarding, new facility setup, and LC issuance.
- Consult with clients on new facilities, amendments, or cancellations of Letters of Credit.
- Manage, oversee, and escalate topics such as structuring, collateral, documentation, and complex implementations.
- Know credit appetite and coordinate with Underwriters and Credit Teams to facilitate LC facilities and cash collateral if needed.
- Engage with bankers on pricing discussions and provide guidance on market levels and capital needs for Letters of Credit.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
7+ years’ experience in Commercial Banking, Sales with Trade Finance / Letter of Credit experienceProven ability to build and develop relationships; willingness to build a strong internal networkStrong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences including C-suite and operations teamsWell-organized and structured with the ability to meet tight timelines on complex deliverablesExperience in reviewing, understanding, and / or working with credit partnersKnowledge of Foreign Bank GuaranteesExperience working in or closely with front office Commercial BankingPreferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
