Description : SUMMARY

Work in a team environment to address patient balances and inquiries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

• Handles inbound customer service calls
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality when addressing patients.
• Answers billing and payment related questions, ensuring that calls are handled in a timely and professional manner.
• Setting up patient payment plans within established guidelines.
• Performs daily assigned tasks on external collection agency portal.
• Effectively communicate with the interdepartmental teams within the AR Department (AR Manager, Surgery, Denial and Ancillary PARs) to resolve patient and / or insurance issues.
• Update patient accounts, to include insurance corrections.
• Work patient refunds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. Employee may be occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to risk of infectious diseases when interacting with patients and / or family members. The employee may be occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid

conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
