Summary Responsibilities :
Finance Business Partner support for the Research & Development and Medical Affairs functions for the Specimen Management business unit.
Responsibilities :
Act as a trusted advisor to R&D and Medical Affairs leadership, translating financial data into strategic insights.
Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Accounting, Procurement, and Project Management teams.
Support the analysis and understanding of R&D / Medical Affairs spending to ensure that funds are invested effectively and in a way that maximize value to the SM business.
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for R&D and Medical Affairs functions.
Partner with functional leaders to develop accurate, data-driven financial plans aligned with strategic objectives.
Monitor and analyze variances, providing actionable insights and recommendations on how to close any identified gaps to performance commitments.
Deliver monthly financial performance reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Support cost center owners with timely financial insights and scenario modeling.
Ensure timely and accurate financial submissions in accordance with corporate timelines.
Manage month-end close processing for SM U.S. in collaboration with the NASSC shared service center and GBS RTR teams.
Coordinate all relevant accounting entries and financial reporting associated with the PreAnalytix joint venture.
Ensure accuracy of financial reporting, SOX compliance, and all other accounting tasks.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Requirements :
The Finance Manager must possess a high level of finance and accounting expertise.
The ability to develop relationships with associates from other regions and / or functions will be essential in carrying out this position's responsibilities.
B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance required.
3+ years' relevant work experience in FP&A, Business Analytics, Controller, or related roles.
Candidate should be well organized and possess good analytical and communication skills; analytical skills should include a working knowledge of budgeting / forecasting techniques.
Candidate must be highly proficient working with MS Excel and proficient with other common applications such as MS Word and MS PowerPoint; working knowledge of SAP.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven, team environment.
Candidate must be willing to occasionally travel; the estimated travel commitment is ~5% of total time.
Preferred Skills / Experience :
Business Intelligence and BPC are a plus.
