Hybrid MD / DO – Primary Care & Obesity Medicine
Sparked by Weight‑Inclusive Healthcare, knownwell is building a hybrid clinical practice with in‑clinic and virtual care. This role blends family or internal medicine with obesity medicine for patients of all sizes.
Key Responsibilities
- Practice exceptional medicine within knownwell, seeing adults ≥18 for primary care and metabolic health and pediatric ≥12 for metabolic health (if licensed).
- Lead the delivery of remote patient care using audio / visual technology for examinations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Coordinate with the broader care team to ensure patient support, documenting billing and remote monitoring data.
- Mentor and coach clinical staff; guide advanced practice clinicians, medical assistants and nursing teams.
- Drive clinical initiatives, develop and implement new programs, policies and procedures to improve patient care.
- Build relationships with providers and stakeholders, support referral relationships with local health‑system networks.
- Represent the rights of both providers and patients, ensuring respectful and dignified treatment.
- Represent the clinical leadership of knownwell, meeting KPIs and collaborating with teammates to ensure clinic staffing.
- Represent knownwell mission and values of patient inclusivity in every interaction.
- Support the development of referral relationships with local healthcare providers, including primary care, specialists, and health system networks.
- Participate in educational sessions, networking events, conferences and community health fairs to increase visibility.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials and campaigns highlighting practice offerings.
- Escalate concerns to dedicated site leadership team and provide clinical guidance to advance practice clinicians, medical assistants and nursing teams as needed.
Qualifications
MD or DO required, board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.Board certification with American Board of Obesity Medicine recommended.Active, unrestricted medical license in Illinois.Minimum 5 years of in‑person or remote clinical experience as a physician outside residency or fellowship.Minimum 2 years of leadership overseeing clinicians (MD / DO / NP / PA) in an ambulatory setting.Valid DEA with prescribing authority (per state practice regulation).Valid BLS certification.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications recommended.Clinical experience in ambulatory care setting, family or internal medicine; chronic condition management and weight‑management preferred.Willingness to participate in knownwell clinical education and training plan for weight management.Willing to obtain additional licensures if needed based on business needs.Willing to supervise Advanced Practice Clinician(s) as needed.High emotional intelligence, inclusive compassionate care, shared decision‑making, and excitement for new patient / provider technology.Access to high‑speed internet and phone lines; transportation to different clinics.Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).Pay & Perks
