Job descriptionJob Description A High School diploma or GED. Three (3) years' experience in building inspection or construction related field. Two (2) years' experience in public sector building inspection. Requires current certification as a Residential Combination Inspector and a minimum of two of the following commercial certifications : Building, Electrical, mechanical, or Plumbing, by a nationally recognized organization. Certifications must be maintained as a condition of continued employment. Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Public sector building inspector or civil inspection experience is preferred. A High School diploma or GED. Five (5) years' experience in building inspection or construction related field. Four (4) years' experience in public sector building inspection. Requires current certification as a Residential Combination Inspector and a Commercial Combination Inspector OR possess a Residential Combination Inspector and possess a minimum of three of the following commercial certifications : Building, Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing, and obtain a fourth commercial certification, in order to obtain a Commercial Combination certificate within one year by a nationally recognized organization such as ICC or equivalent. Certifications must be maintained as a condition of continued employment. Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Must demonstrate position aptitude by completing a 60-day field training program prior to appointment. Public sector building inspector or civil inspection experience is preferred. Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment. May be necessary to walk up multiple story stairs for inspections. Regular, daily attendance is an essential function for this position. Rotating team member on-call / call-out to respond to commercial and residential structures damaged due to fire, lightning, vehicle impact and / or other emergencies within the Town's jurisdiction after business hours and on some weekends and Holidays.
