About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President / Deputy General Counsel to join its legal leadership team. The successful candidate will serve as the legal department's second-in-command, with a focus on transforming legal operations into a strategic business accelerator. This role involves managing a team of five Associate General Counsels, each leading their respective verticals, and being a senior legal voice in high-impact decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background, experience in highly regulated industries, and a business-oriented mindset. Responsibilities include leading litigation and regulatory strategy, managing risk, and building scalable, tech-forward legal processes. The role also requires acting as a trusted counsel to the General Counsel and executive leadership, and collaborating cross-functionally to create innovative, value-driven legal solutions.
Applicants for the Vice President / Deputy General Counsel position at the company must have a J.D. degree, bar membership in at least one U.S. state, and a minimum of 12 years of legal experience, with a substantial litigation background. Deep experience in a highly regulated field, particularly with FDA and healthcare regulatory frameworks, is strongly preferred. The role demands a proven track record in managing and developing legal teams, as well as experience in strategic business advisory and commercial, labor, and transactional legal matters. The ideal candidate will be a transformational leader, capable of making pragmatic, risk-based decisions, and will be expected to operate with integrity and mission alignment. Familiarity with AI, automation tools, or legal tech platforms is also preferred.
