About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Room Social Worker

Profession : Social Services

Specialty : LMSW (Licensed Masters of Social Worker)

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in acute care and Emergency Room settings.

License : LMSW or LCSW required; pending license accepted.

Certifications : Must hold a valid state license as either LMSW or LCSW.

Must-Have :

• Acute care experience is required.
• Emergency Room experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of cultural issues and crisis intervention skills.

Description :

Provide psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families in the Emergency Department.

Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop discharge plans aligned with policies and regulations.

Assist patients with resource navigation and coordinate care, ensuring effective discharge planning.

Engage in safety planning and screen for suicidality as appropriate.

Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate patient care.

Participate in care conference activities and provide education to patients and caregivers.

Maintain clear documentation of assessments, plans, and patient interactions.

Handle a variety of patient diagnoses, including but not limited to chronic illnesses and psychiatric disorders.

Deliver brief clinical interventions as necessary and coordinate with external entities.

Travelers must be available to work weekends and two out of three major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.

All required references from previous supervisory roles must be provided.
