Role : Senior Accountant

Location : Washington DC

Pay Rate : $38 / hour

One of our top non-profit clients in Washington DC, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team part-time! They are needing someone who is detail-oriented, hardworking, and ready to come in and hit the ground running.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience working with a non-profit and is comfortable interfacing with organizational leadership and Boards of Directors.

This is a true 2-4 month contract opportunity, seeking someone who is available to start immediately!

Location : Washington DC

Schedule : 2-3 days in-office hybrid schedule

Hours : 20 hours a week

Job Responsibilities :

  • Overseeing day-to-day AP, AR, and payroll operations
  • Preparing financial statements including cash flow projections, balance sheet, and budget projections
  • Ability to confidently present financial reports and projections to staff members, leadership, and the Board of Directors
  • Reconciliation of all accounts and income on a monthly basis
  • Collaborating with the Grants Manager to track and report all grant related financial activity
  • Overseeing the distribution of payments to independent contracts and invoicing customers for payment
  • Support audits and tax controls by providing proper documentation and explanations on accounts
  • Assisting the HR Department in the onboarding of employees for pay and benefits distribution
  • Ensuring compliance on a company, state and federal level
  • Support and help members of the company on accounting and financial matters when requested

Requirements :

  • Must be able to travel to Washington DC and be in-office for 2-3 days a week
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience for a non-profit organization, including supervisory experience
  • Experience creating and successfully executing presentations of financial reports and projections
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability
  • Ability to assess priorities, assign resources and always maintain composure and diplomacy
