Job description

Aldridge Pite, LLP is a multi-state law firm that emphasizes the use of technology to create workflow synergies with clients and partners. The firm provides legal services to financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, and mortgage companies, focusing on partnership, integrity, and innovation.

Purpose

The Supervising Attorney manages the South Carolina Division, overseeing attorneys and staff serving mortgage lenders, banks, and investors. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and investor guidelines, managing the department's P&L, and providing legal and operational oversight in judicial foreclosure processes. The role involves managing litigation related to mortgage foreclosures and civil cases, developing business, and strategic planning.

Key Duties

  • Attend mediations, trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings
  • Ensure legal compliance, risk mitigation, and cost control in line with CFPB and OCC regulations
  • Collaborate across departments such as Bankruptcy, Litigation, Title, REO, HR, Accounting, and IT
  • Manage attorneys and paralegals
  • Develop departmental policies and goals
  • Travel as needed
  • Engage in client communication, article writing, presentations, and business development
  • Manage multiple projects and cases efficiently
  • Assist with special projects as required

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice in South Carolina
  • Preferred : Licensed in SC, AL, GA, and TN
  • At least eight years of litigation and default management experience
  • Active member of the state Bar with ongoing legal education
  • Expertise in their legal field
  • Experience managing teams and P&L
