Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The primary purpose of the role is to support the development of the Asset Management System that co-ordinates the activity of Te Whatu Ora to realise value from its assets and leads the work programme to improve asset management maturity.

Note: Preference will be given to internal Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora candidates.

Mōu | About you

You will be required to lead the development and implementation of the: -

• Asset Management Policy – the principles that govern the Te Whatu Ora approach to asset management; and
• National Asset Management Strategy – how Te Whatu Ora will make investment decisions; and
• Asset Levels of Service, measures and targets for condition, utilization (demand) and fitness for purpose.

In addition, you will lead the development and implementation of an Asset Management Maturity

Improvement Programme, including formal monitoring and reporting on the improvement

programme to the Executive Team.

A further two key areas of responsibilities, will be monitoring and reporting on the performance of

Te Whatu Ora assets, as well as leading the establishment of a competency framework including

training and development pathways.

Success in this role will see you bring a good mix of specialist skills and experience not limited to:

• Degree in asset management, strategy, property, or business-related field
• Ability to engage at ELT/Board Level
• Developing asset management strategies in complex environments including developing asset levels of service, measures, and targets and an understanding Treasury requirement in relation to Asset Management, specifically CO(19)6
• Implementing IIMM or ISO55000 asset management maturity frameworks
• Developing competency frameworks
• Leading a team that works closely with inter and cross agency teams to develop and implement an asset management strategy

• Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
