Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide support for new product startups, continuous improvement, waste reduction, problem solving, and cost reduction activities aligned with company goals and objectives. This role requires conducting business in accordance with company practices and policies to promote a positive public image. The engineer will champion projects aimed at improving throughput, yield, and ergonomics, with a focus on reducing operating expenses through automation, error proofing, and waste reductions. They will develop plant area expertise, provide skilled troubleshooting by participating in cross-functional teams, and lead new product launches and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Identify, justify, and submit capital project documentation for approval, coordinating the purchasing, installation, and testing of equipment and machinery prior to production release.
• Participate in problem-solving and development teams, acting as a liaison between the factory floor and Development Engineering.
• Participate in APQP teams representing the plant and provide leadership in safe plant operations.
• Generate, maintain, and monitor process operating parameters, capacity and utilization data, routing and bills of material information, along with TS16949 manufacturing and production documentation.
• Support ISO14001 environmental efforts during the engineering design and improvement process.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a fast-paced environment with frequent daily interruptions. The Manufacturing Engineer will interface with 6-10 engineers daily and work cross-functionally with maintenance, floor, and engineering personnel. The position is within a Tier 1 automotive supplier setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00 / yr.
