Overview We’re looking for a Senior Content Strategist who lives and breathes social media and knows how to turn functional mushrooms and adaptogens into scroll-stopping content. This role is perfect for someone who can translate our products’ functional attributes into compelling stories, move seamlessly between content strategy and hands-on execution, and understands that great social content isn't just beautiful—it's authentic, culturally relevant, and drives real business results.
You'll own Plant People's social presence across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms while serving as the connective tissue for content across our marketing team—ensuring our message is consistent, on-brand, and optimized for performance whether someone discovers us on TikTok, in a Whole Foods Market aisle, or through a paid ad. You're equally comfortable developing a content strategy on Monday and picking up your phone to shoot a TikTok on Tuesday. You're a creative force who gets energized by gummies, sees everything as potential content, and brings a sharp editorial eye to everything from Instagram captions to website copy to retailer pitch decks.
This role reports to the Director of Marketing.
What You'll Do Own and manage Plant People's social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms)—from content strategy to daily posting, community management, and performance analysis
Create high-performing organic social content—shoot on your phone, edit in CapCut, write captions, shoot products, capture behind-the-scenes moments, and turn everyday moments into content
Develop and execute the social content strategy that drives brand awareness, community engagement, website traffic, and ultimately sales across D2C and retail
Manage the social content calendar, coordinating with product launches, retail activations, campaigns, and cultural moments to ensure relevance
Collaborate on influencer and UGC strategy, partnering with the Digital Marketing Manager to identify creators, develop briefs, manage relationships, and ensure creator content aligns with brand standards and performs
Partner with paid media teams to ensure organic social content informs and inspires paid creative—testing concepts organically before scaling with ad spend
Review and elevate copy across channels—emails, ads, website copy, and retailer materials to ensure messaging is consistent, compelling, and on-brand
Support content needs for product launches and campaigns, creating announcement content, educational series, and launch-day activations that generate buzz and drive conversions
Track and analyze social performance, using data to understand what's working, what's not, and where to double down—iterate quickly based on insights
Stay plugged into social and cultural trends, understanding what's happening on TikTok, Instagram, wellness communities, and in culture so Plant People shows up where our audience is paying attention
Be the voice of our community, responding to comments, DMs, and questions in a way that feels authentic, helpful, and brand-aligned
Qualifications 2+ years running social for a brand—ideally CPG, wellness, beauty, or DTC
Proven creator—portfolio includes content you’ve written, shot, edited, and grown organically
Strong grasp of Instagram and TikTok—understanding how each platform works and what performs
Confident in fast, hands-on content creation—editing in CapCut, shooting on iPhone, and making magic without a big crew
A sharp writer—you know how to stop the scroll and keep the tone true to brand
Experience managing influencers and UGC—briefing, sourcing, and ensuring performance and polish
Comfortable using data to inform what you make next—creating content that converts, not just looks good
Naturally plugged into wellness, culture, and what’s trending—you know when and how to jump in
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, scrappy environment
Passionate about Plant People’s mission and products
What You'll Get We prioritize the well-being of our team. As a growing company, we strive to offer meaningful perks and benefits, including :
Opportunity to help shape a fast-growing company at a pivotal stage
Additional vacation days and sabbatical opportunities for long-term employees
Company-subsidized healthcare plans (medical, dental, and vision)

Team-building events, dinners, offsites, and social gatherings
A thoughtful, motivated, fun-loving team that values balance and excellence
