Director, Corporate Partnerships

EARTHDAY.ORG (EDO)is pleased to offer a regular, full-time position to a candidateto help grow philanthropic support for EDO from corporations, including sponsorships and corporate foundations.The successful candidate will work from our Washington D.C. (hybrid) and report to the Vice President of Development.

About EDO : EARTHDAY.ORG’s mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide. Growing out of the first Earth Day in 1970, EDO is the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 150,000 partners in over 192 countries to drive positive action for our planet.

Position Function : The Director of Institutional Giving is a key member of the development team, helping to meet fundraising goals for EDO’s work in the U.S. and around the world. The individual in this role is responsiblefor developing, managing, and growing high-value corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities and contributing to the overall financial capacity of EDO.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Expand the EDO base of financial support by actively pursuing high-value (6-7 figure) corporate partnerships (including corporate foundations) and sponsorship opportunities.
• Lead the development of all concept notes, grant proposals, and budgets submitted to corporate funders, working closely with EDO’s program teams and the Manager, Corporate Partnerships.
• Participate in and document meetings and calls with current and prospective sponsors and donors.
• Work with Communications and Social Media staff to story-tell and communicate value for sponsors and donors.
• Work with the Development Coordinator to ensure timely gift acknowledgements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records with the Development Coordinator in the team’s CRM systems.
• Work with EDO finance staff on coding and invoicing.
• Organize and communicate deliverables and deadlines of agreements with appropriate EDO staff members.
• Steward corporate partnerships and sponsorships, including working with finance and program staff to develop interim / final programmatic and financial reports, and otherwise complying with all grant reporting as required by corporate donors.
• Assist in the execution of Earth Day events, especially ones with corporate sponsors or participation.
• Monitor trends in corporate giving and travel to industry events and other networking opportunities, as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Development.
• Create and maintain briefings of corporate funders for senior and program staff.
• Supervise the Manager, Corporate Partnerships.
• Provide input on and implement fundraising strategies for EDO’s work.
• Assist with other fundraising duties as assigned by the VP of Development.

Qualifications :

Location : The position will work out of our Washington D.C. office (hybrid).

Compensation : EDO offers compensation commensurate with skills and experience and will include a competitive benefits package. Salary for this position will be in the $100,000-$120,000 commensurate with experience and considering locality.
