SUMMARY

The Information Assurance Engineer CM supports the Department of Defense (DoD) ACAS capability which scans an estimated 11 million devices on the DoD Information Network (DoDIN) for potential vulnerabilities that may affect DoD security posture.

The Information Assurance Engineer CM provides configuration management support to the ACAS team and program management office (PMO).

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS / SCI) Security Clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Works with the Government CM Manager to analyze, maintain and open and close change requests (CRs).

Captures minutes of the Configuration Control Board (CCB).

Monitors the release of updates or patches relevant to the Configuration Items (CIs).

Performs all CM Test and Evaluation in the lab. CM test and evaluation refers to testing any changes to the baseline due to changes to the hardware / software, and testing of patches, which may require regression testing if patches impact system functionality.

Provides and implements a detailed CM Plan that outlines steps and procedures for making configuration changes.

Coordinates activities with the task leads to document CIs and to perform configuration changes.

Logs all activities in a CM Schedule of Activities table.

Establishes and maintains a Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

Addresses baseline identification, change control, status accounting, and auditing, including all new and / or modified hardware, firmware, software, and documentation.

Updates and maintains the Product Baseline Report.

Addresses the source, configuration identification, configuration control, and configuration status accounting of all new and / or modified hardware, firmware, software, and documentation including GFE.

Examines functional, management, and technical requirements and / or issues that address systems deployment to the DoD enterprise, including (but not limited to) :

  • Open Systems Environment
  • Security
  • Standards
  • Data and Data Sharing
  • Functional and Technical Integration

Provides technical and analytical analysis to continue research into system release and the required services.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5 ) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
