Tax Manager, Hedge Fund Tax

As a Hedge Fund Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in managing tax compliance, reporting, and strategy for hedge fund clients. You will supervise a team of tax professionals, oversee client engagements, and serve as a trusted advisor to both clients and internal stakeholders.
Prepare, review, and file tax returns and reports for federal, state, local, property, sales, and other tax liabilities
Stay current on evolving tax laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
Analyze company structures and align tax strategies with budgetary and operational goals
Supervise and mentor tax professionals, providing leadership, coaching, and career development
Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing tax inquiries and delivering expert guidance
Lead client meetings and serve as the primary contact for tax-related matters
Partner with cross-functional teamsincluding accounting, operations, and legalto develop solutions and deliver comprehensive services
Establish and refine departmental procedures; recommend improvements to policies and practices
Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of detailed tax records for each fiscal year
Drive departmental accountability and results in alignment with corporate objectives
What You Will Bring :
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field and at least 4 years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree with 6 years of related experience
Strong knowledge of hedge fund structures, tax compliance, and reporting requirements
Demonstrated supervisory experience leading teams and managing department functions
Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and communicate complex tax concepts effectively
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with executive presence
Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and ability to work cross-functionally
