The Stress Engineer will be responsible for understanding damage done to the structure of the aircraft. Analyzing data and putting together a repair concept in order to fix the damage.

Will be 90% behind a computer running the numbers for analysis to implement repair. After creating the concept, they will be sending back to structural engineer.

  • Reviewing and performing analyses using hand calculations using OEM and DoD methods and industry standards.
  • Initiate repairs and develop reports that demonstrate designs and meet all design requirements.
  • Uses software such as Nastran / Patran and Femap for analysis
  • Manage project components including establishing task priorities, scheduling, and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
  • Creating the stress report, this will be a lot of documenting, then goes back to structural engineer

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors degree - Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Materials, or Structural Engineering
  • Journeyman 3-10 years' experience in airframe analysis.

o Repair experience

o Fleet support

o Manufacturing support

  • Background in Aviation / Aerospace
  • Proficient in Excel

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of Crack Growth Analysis

Knowledge of Boeing 707 platform (commercial book 1-4)

Secret Clearance
