- Geotechnical Engineer
- : Hynes & Associates is seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer.
Candidate should have a minimum of an E.I. or 3+ years’ experience. Responsibilities will include marketing geotechnical services, interpreting field and laboratory test data, and performing engineering evaluations for a cross section of project types (buildings, transportation, dams, offshore structures, earth structures, etc.). Engineer will, also, provide field evaluations for construction projects.
- Job Duties :
- Work with other members of the geotechnical services department including geologists, technicians, drill crews and sub-consultants to deliver exceptional results.
- Prepare geotechnical project work scopes, budgets, and proposals.
- Plan and coordinate field exploration programs including site reconnaissance.
- Perform soil and rock classification.
- Perform geotechnical engineering analysis and calculations.
- Develop geotechnical engineering design parameters and recommendations.
- Prepare geotechnical engineering reports.
- Manage geotechnical engineering projects, including project schedules, budgets, and invoicing.
- Communicate with existing and potential clients.
- Site visits during construction phase to ensure successful implementation of geotechnical recommendations.
- What you need to have :
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical concentration.
- EIT or PE license or able to obtain.
- Proficient with writing and reviewing technical reports.
- Valid Driver's license with insurable driving record.
- Able to travel locally to / from project sites.
- Able to work extended hours when workload dictates.
- Able to effectively communicate with internal staff and external clients through in-person, written, verbal, and electronic methods.
