Job descriptionOversee preconstruction for large mechanical scopes from concept to contract Lead design reviews, estimating, value engineering, and constructability planning Coordinate across design, estimating, and operations teams Develop and present budgets, proposals, and technical solutions to clients Use software tools for modeling, estimating, and design analysis Support contract negotiations and early buyout phases Mentor junior precon and estimating staff Based in Honolulu or open to relocation 10+ years in mechanical preconstruction or engineering roles Stable work history with large commercial projects Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field Strong skills in estimating, engineering design, and value analysis Excellent communication and client-facing presentation skills PE license (preferred) Familiarity with estimating / design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble, etc.) Background in hospitals, labs, data centers, or complex mechanical builds
