Nikon Metrology is seeking a n Electrical Engineer who will be a part of the Advanced Development Engineering Team in Manassas. The primary responsibility for this position is the design and development of the electrical sub-systems in the Laser Radar. The Laser Radar is a combination of focusing optics and a gimbal system to steer the laser beam controlled by sensitive analog circuitry and a high speed digital acquisition system.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY :
Will include, but not limited to the following :
- Design, testing, repair and maintenance of printed circuit boards (PCB’s) including programming of CPLD / FPGAs
- Design, fabrication and integration of electrical and electronic hardware including power supplies, cabling, production test equipment and other circuit board applications
- Support all areas of production including troubleshooting and development of testing regimes.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL :
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
At least 2 years of experience in electrical design focusing on FPGA or embedded microprocessor code development.Master the electrical design tools : Schematic Entry like ORCAD, PCB Layout tool like Mentor PADS. FPGA design tools like ALTERA Quartus or Xilinx ISE.Familiar with QNX Momentix IDE for testing embedded computer peripheralsGood writing and verbal skills in EnglishCertificates, License, Registrations :
Bachelor or Master in Electrical / Computer EngineeringFUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES :
Experience with QNX or real time Linux and the C++ languageExperience with Matlab and SimulinkExperience with oscilloscopes and other instrumentation normally found in electronics testingExperience with testing, repair and maintenance of printed circuit boards (PCB’s)Experience in hardware descriptive languages like VHDL / Verilog for Altera and Xilinx CPLD / FPGAsAbility to read and create schematicsComputer Operation for testing and recording of test resultsAbility to read and build assemblies from schematics and verbal instructionsAbility to follow detail test proceduresAbility to solderBasic Mechanical assembly skills.Ability to develop test proceduresA good team playerWORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
