Manager PCSS Operations
- Description : Job Summary : The incumbent is responsible for the oversight of daily operations in the department, including : a) achieving the departmental goals and objectives;
- b) ensuring all work is completed in a compliant manner; c) maintaining effective working relationships with key constituencies;
d) coordinating projects designed to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of the operations.Essential Responsibilities : Manages PCSS operations in order to ensure quality and / or quantity goals are met.
Identifies, coordinates, and implements projects and / or programs to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of PCSS operations.
Ensures projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules.Estimates personnel needs and assigns work to meet completion dates.
Reviews department performance.Ensures compliance with department and organization policies and procedures.Manages, coordinates and provides leadership to the PCSS staff.
Provides training, coaching, and professional development. Interviews and recommends candidates for employment or termination.
Conducts performance evaluations for assigned staff.Resolves piles, analyzes, and submits PCSS operational reports and statistics on employee and department performance especially key performance indicators.
Takes appropriate corrective actions as necessary and works in collaboration with the PCSS Management team.Monitors operational and system issues and resolves as required.
Performs system administration working closely with KPIT or KPHC on system maintenance and enhancements.Performs periodic review of user system access as required.
Attends and participates in local and regional meetings. Participates and / or leads local committees, workgroups and taskforces.
Facilitates the Labor Management Partnership (LMP) through a well-functioning Unit Based Team (UBT). Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and regional and local KP policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications : Experience Three(3 years of experience in revenue cycle functions or professional coding audit experience.
Three (3) years relevant management. Education Bachelors Degree or four (4) years directly related experience in healthcare operations.
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma Required. License, Certification, Registration N / A Additional Requirements : Demonstrated experience in coding / service capture, internal quality, information systems, operations improvement, reengineering and project management.
Excellent working knowledge of professional coding, state and federal regulations.Possesses the ability to analyze trends, develop and maintain performance goals and provide information to senior leadership.
Skilled in coaching, counseling and developing others to achieve operational objectives.Skilled in team building, team participation and achieving organizational success.
Possesses extensive knowledge of general business concepts including organizational behavior and personnel / labor laws and regulations.
Experience working in a Union environment.Must possess a certification completion within six to nine months of hire.Must be able to work in a Labor Management environment.
Preferred Qualifications : Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist for Professional Services (CCS - P),Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification is preferred.
Working knowledge of MS Office and EPIC.Masters Degree in Allied Health OR related field in Healthcare.
