Buyer
We are seeking a motivated and strategic Buyer to join our team, supporting interior commodities, which includes seats, wire harness, digital electronics, and semiconductors. This role requires a strong communicator who is comfortable with conflict and adept at gathering data to solve issues, with an excellent business acumen and self-motivation.
Responsibilities :
- Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments, and communicate any supply problems that may impact business operations.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
- Monitor and advise on any issues presenting risk or opportunity to the organization.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers.
- Provide analysis on costs, review cost reduction activities, and work closely with others in the procurement function.
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers, and review opportunities for business savings using negotiation and procurement best practices.
- Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships, and ensure good communications.
- Conduct research for new components and suppliers, and compile data relating to supplier performance for evaluation.
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues, and resolve supplier shortages and past-due situations.
- Update and maintain commodity strategies, work with cost estimating to develop cost estimates for savings negotiations, and mitigate supplier uplift requests.
- Produce weekly reports, charts, and status on open assignments and projects.
- Perform market tests, analyze responses, and award sourcing of parts.
- Review open vehicles off-road (VOR) and backorders weekly, and expedite parts delivery.
Essential Skills :
5-10 years of automotive purchasing / buyer experience.Automotive purchasing experience is mandatory.Advanced Excel skillsSAP / ERP experience.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Strategic planning and decision-making skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications :
Experience in electronics, interior, digital, and semiconductor industries is a plus.Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience handling complicated decks with high volume / high cost.Job Type & Location :

Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $50.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
