Oak Grove School District has a total student enrollment of approximately 8,690 students from grades TK-8. There are 14 elementary schools and 3 intermediate schools, and a TK-8 Virtual Learning (VLA).

Six out of seventeen schools receive Title I funds. The size of the school ranges from the highest (730) student enrollment to the lowest (269) student enrollment.

The percentage of English Learners is 29% representing 56 languages spoken in the District. Oak Grove School District’s focus is driven by the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) and school site-specific SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement) these identifies short, intermediate, and long-term goals.

First and foremost in all activities is the safety of students as well as student success in the areas of math and reading / language arts.

The district is located in the southeastern corner of San Jose, California bounded by Capitol Expressway to the north, Canoas Creek to the west, Bernal Road to the south and the foothills to the east.

Job Description / Essential Elements : To assist a certificated teacher in the instruction and supervision of individual or groups of special education students by performing a variety of instructional support and child care activities.

This job class provides a variety of responsible instructional support and follow through activities for the educational / training objectives of certificated personnel in a wide variety of special services areas.

Requirements / Qualifications

High School diploma, plus either AA or higher degree, or 46+ college units, or have passed the No Child Left Behind exam.
