Strategic Sourcing Partner - Technology
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Sourcing of SS&P, the Strategic Sourcing Partner - Technology will join a team whose primary responsibilities include strategic sourcing, category and vendor management, ensuring adherence to applicable procurement and foundation policies and processes and general contracting duties.
The ideal candidate. You will partner closely with the Head of Strategic Sourcing to lead complex sourcing initiatives through collaboration with business partners, including Legal. This role manages all aspects of the IT source to contracting process, negotiating rate cards, running RFPs (Request for Proposal) when required, facilitating the vendor selection process & supporting SS&P with the build out of new processes, workflows, and various applications (or tools, templates) used to support the source to pay process.
The ideal candidate has strategic sourcing experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and will have directly worked with Software, Hardware, and IT Professional Services. They are also a self-starter who works independently, communicates effectively, and has the ability to influence others without needing formal authority. They are passionate about delivering high-quality work individually and through others. The SS&P team is looking for someone who can get going quickly to manage multiple responsibilities while producing high-quality work.
What You'll Do
- Lead the strategic sourcing execution (i.e. RFx, vendor management, stakeholders management etc.) across foundation technology needs
- Support the maturity of category sourcing strategy for software, hardware, and IT professional services
- Represent SS&P for foundation needs of SW / HW / SaaS / IaaS / PaaS, IT Professional Services
- Help set goals and carry out plans aligned with overall SS&P vision
- Partner with business owners and collaborators on RFPs, new contracts, and renewals
- Collaborate with partners to develop requirements, project plans and implementation plans
- Establish and track key performance indicators and present progress to senior management
- Lead and facilitate performance conversations with vendors as needed
- Educate partners on overall Source to Contract process and value proposition of Sourcing team
- Develop adoption strategies for preferred vendor programs
- Focus on strategic work while still driving outcomes through a buy-desk and outsource service provider for lower risk, lower complexity items and ensuring approach and outputs are aligned with overall strategy
- Role will focus on North America but will also support initiatives globally
- Execute on strategic plans to advance short- and long-term SS&P goals
- Orchestrate the change management process with internal partners and external vendors
- Build partnerships with attorneys and form relationships in a complex environment
- Leverage data (IE. Spend, contract, market research) to build consensus or influence key customers
- Support contract review by facilitating discussions with vendors and partners (i.e. GCS, Legal, InfoSec)
- Manage IT punchout catalog to ensure it improves quick purchase authority along with competitive pricing
- Work with team members and finance partners to build upstream pipeline of work and build plans to prioritize, introduce competition where appropriate, and limit last minute urgent requests as much as possible
Your Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and minimum 7+ years of combined IT procurement experience (Sourcing & Procurement experience) with strong negotiating, contracting and category management expertiseSolid understanding of systems like Coupa, D&B (Dun & Bradstreet), Docusign, Concur, Dynamics, etc.Demonstrable experience managing 'Fast Buy' channels and preferred vendor programs and vendor punchouts, for expediting purchasing for low-risk commodities and vendorsAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment while managing various priorities to meet multiple deadlinesMust exhibit strong service excellence, detail orientation, and excel in problem solving.Tech savvy and has a strong interest and proven success in working with technology (including new software tools, Chat GPT, Co-Pilot, systems implementations)Experience discovering new vendors and negotiating contracts with established or new vendors across Info Security, SAAS (Software as a Service), and IT professional services.Demonstrated success in working collaboratively across multiple businesses, functions or work groupsDemonstrated SME (Subject Matter Expert) in IT procurement with experience working with IT, Legal, and Finance to execute & negotiate vendor contractsAnalytical and data focused approach that is able to provide actionable insights gleaned from dataComfortable using AI tools (i.e. ChatGPT, Co-Pilot)Must exhibit strong service excellence, detail orientation, and excel in problem solvingCollaboration mentality; helps reinforce a "we" not a "me" cultureAdvanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Business, Technology, Economics or Supply Chain preferred but not requiredMust be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.
The salary range for this role is $127,400 to $191,200 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $138,900 to $208,300 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
