Accounting Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. In this Contract position, you will play a vital role in managing high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounting operations and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Perform monthly close procedures, maintaining compliance with established accounting standards.
  • Prepare reconciliations for cash accounts and other balance sheet items to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account reconciliations, providing clear documentation.
  • Implement and refine procedures to enhance the efficiency of financial operations.
  • Handle check runs and ensure all payments are processed in alignment with company policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to support organizational accounting goals.
  • Maintain adherence to company values, operating principles, and applicable laws.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in accounting practices.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Accounting.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting processes, including accounts payable, accruals, monthly close, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with strong skills in formulas and data analysis.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Prior experience in the banking industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build effective relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to process improvement and achieving goals.
