The Department of Chemistry and Physics in the Cook-Cole College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a full-time, tenure-track position (#F0334) at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2026.
Primary teaching responsibilities include biochemistry, advanced biochemistry, introductory chemistry (for science majors or non- majors), and general education courses for non-majors. A Ph.D. in chemistry, with specialization in biochemistry or a closely related sub-discipline, is required. A strong commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching is required. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate previous high-quality teaching. Candidates are expected to develop a successful research program in the undergraduate setting and be committed to service activities at the departmental, college, and university levels.
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University’s campus.
