Wesleyan College is currently seeking a part-time adjunct instructor to teach online undergraduate courses in Social & Cognitive Psychology.
Wesleyan online courses have been designed to accommodate the learning needs and busy schedules of students earning their degrees while working full time. Each online course serves approximately twenty students, is eight weeks in length, and includes a synchronous Zoom meeting one evening per week.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Teach course(s) conforming to departmental and institutional standards and expectations
Communicate and uphold clear, consistent student learning outcomes, grading policies, and e-mail / message response practices throughout the term
Maintain a student-friendly, ADA accessible, and up-to-date Canvas LMS course site and utilize Zoom web conferencing tool to host weekly live class meetings
Evaluate student achievement of specified learning outcomes and assign grades
Post two-week, midterm, and final student grades according to College-specified deadlines
Respond to student questions and learning needs in a respectful, compassionate, and timely manner
Stay current regarding the professional body of knowledge in the field of practice
Complete required administrative tasks according to College-specified deadlines, including : completing all hiring paperwork; signing instructor contract; submitting updated syllabus; posting attendance, grade, and student concern reports; and reporting institutional learning outcome data
Qualifications and Experience :
Candidate must have a master's or doctoral degree in Psychology from a regionally accredited institution.
Candidate should have a minimum of three years of college-level online teaching experience. Experience working with post-traditional learners is a plus.
Candidate should have experience designing and teaching fully online college-level courses in Canvas LMS.
Candidate will be required to submit copies of official transcripts (all degree levels) upon hire.
