Coordinates the day-to-day administration of human resources functions, record keeping, and special projects. Ensures compliance with federal and state labor policies and assists with employee relation matters.
They will act as the liaison between school base employees.

- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files within ADP Workforce Now, records, documentation and performs periodic audits of HR files / records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Conduct onboarding, background checks and employment verifications
- Assists the HCMS and People Data Manager with employee relations matters and investigations
- Provides guidance and support to employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
- Provides support to the Human Resources Director and Payroll and Benefits Manager during open enrollment
- Provide customer service to employees in regards to personnel / benefits questions and problems to include areas such as insurance, payroll, workers compensation, intake of complaints, and any other personnel or benefit related issue
- Provide consultation to management to ensure consistent implementation of policies relating to performance and recommend appropriate course of action during the investigative process.
- Serves as a resource to employees with respect to employee appeals of unresolved problems, discipline situations, and harassment claims
- Maintains updates on current HR trends and best practices to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Assists with unemployment claims and represents ALS at unemployment hearings when requested
- Support the HR team in various HR projects and initiatives, including policy development and implementation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HR practices align with organizational goals
- Coordinating timekeeper / payroll administration with school-based representatives
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
- Conduct background screening per requirements for locations assigned. Will be responsible for reviewing background reports for charges and notifying review committee.
- Anticipate needs of department and participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
- Develops and maintains EEO-1 information; files EEO-1 report annually

Knowledge and Skills Required
- Knowledge of payroll compliance regulations and regulatory expectations
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to analyze payroll data
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders
- Ability to deliver high level of customer service to employees.
- Knowledge of and ability to work in a technology rich environment
- Skilled in the use of productivity software, including but not limited to : Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum 3 years previous Human Resources experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education and Experience Preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
- Prior experience in K-12 educational setting
- Prior experience working with ADP Workforce Now
- Benefits and payroll experience a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
