Description :

This position involves working in an observation unit with a focus on the constant reassessment of patients' readiness for discharge.

The unit will be admitting and discharging patients rapidly.

The typical patient ratio during days is 1 : 4-5.

If part of an RN / LPN team, the ratio can go up to 1 : 7.

Working weekends is required, with every other weekend scheduled.

Floating to other medical surgical units may occur based on needs, typically once per week.

No holiday request time off is accepted; dates may be discussed with management to determine accommodations.

This unit handles a mix of medical patients, with a variety of staff working in collaboration.
