GENERAL SUMMARY : \n\n

The Department of Pharmacy has the responsibility for the implementation and coordination of drug control in the process of providing pharmaceutical care for patients of all ages within the Medical Center. Under the clinical supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician III assists pharmacists in pharmaceutical preparation, distribution, and record keeping functions in the delivery of pharmaceutical supplies to patients in accordance to department policies and guidelines.

The Pharmacy Technician III performs specialized billing, quality reporting / data analysis, prior authorization support, controlled substances, inventory purchasing, medication reconciliation / clinical support, sterile products, hazardous medication preparation, or Tech Check Tech functions contributing to essential departmental workflow and process efficiency. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

\n\n

High school diploma or equivalency required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Minimum of one (1) year experience in an institutional pharmacy environment (hospital or health care facility with admitted patients) or a retail pharmacy environment required.

\n\n

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS :

\n\n

Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Nebraska required. Pharmacy Technician Certification from a State of Nebraska approved certification agency required. Examples include : ptcb, ExCPT, UNMC (NE-CPhT).
