Description :

Position involves providing care for patients with oncology and telemetry needs.

Candidates are expected to manage a patient ratio of 1 : 4.

The unit features a total of 32 beds.

There is a charge nurse available with a light patient assignment.

Support staff includes 2 patient care technicians during both day and night shifts.

Every nurse will be expected to complete skills assessments.

Skills assessments include Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.

Nurses will also go through lifting techniques, restraints, and wound care education.

Candidates must demonstrate competence in nursing skills frequently performed.

The typical patient population consists of 85% oncology patients and 15% telemed-surgical patients.

Floating to other medical-surgical and telemetry units may be required.

Weekend requirements include working at least 1 weekend per month.

Holidays will be worked into the rotation.

Uniforms must be navy in color.

Shift hours are from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Support services such as respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24 / 7.

The emergency medical record system used is Cerner.

Overall, this position requires a dedicated nurse with experience in oncology and telemetry care.
