The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Woodward Resource Center (WRC) is seeking a full-time Custodial Worker to join our team!

As a Custodial Worker, you will be responsible for general cleaning of various buildings and structures on our campus.

What You'll Do :

• Sweep, dust mop, wet mop, wipe surfaces, dust surfaces, empty trash, vacuum, and wash windows.
• Polish furniture, counters, shelving, and window or door ledges and casings using cloths and mops with cleaning or polishing solutions.
• Select and apply appropriate product for surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms in assigned areas.
• Check and restock consumable supplies like toilet paper, towels, and soap.
• Observe and check locked doors, electrical cords, and tripping / slipping hazards.
• Move furniture and equipment for cleaning and redecorating by lifting and carrying light to heavy objects.
• Customer and Personal Service - This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and pro-actively identifying and addressing cleaning issues.
• Perform related duties as required.

Key Competencies

Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position. The successful candidate will have and maintain a valid Iowa Driver's License.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification :

1) Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency. 2) One year of full-time work experience in commercial building maintenance or housekeeping.
