Western Engineering Co Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Asphalt Plant Foreman to lead our portable operations in Iowa and Nebraska. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of asphalt production at our mobile plants, ensuring operational efficiency, quality, and safety compliance. Your leadership will be key in managing plant personnel, coordinating with paving crews, and ensuring that production meets project specifications. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the portable asphalt plants, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety protocols
- Lead and mentor the plant crew, providing training and promoting a culture of safety and teamwork
- Monitor production processes and troubleshoot any issues to maintain efficiency and quality
- Coordinate with project managers and paving teams to schedule production and delivery timelines
- Conduct regular equipment inspections, ensuring all machines are fully operational and well-maintained
- Document production data, maintenance activities, and any safety incidents, reporting to management as necessary
- Stay current with industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance across all operations.
Requirements
Significant experience in asphalt production, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role preferredStrong knowledge of asphalt plant operations, machinery, and safety practicesProven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectivelyExcellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and stakeholdersStrong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make decisions under pressureAbility to read and interpret technical documents and specificationsWillingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours based on project needsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordPass pre-employment drug screening.Benefits
