Position Summary
Georg North America, with operations in Roanoke, VA, and Alpharetta, GA, is the subsidiary responsible for sales, service, and engineering for the entire GEORG product line in Canada, USA, and Mexico.
We are looking to hire an Industrial Automation and Controls Engineer to expand our field service team at our Alpharetta, GA office location.
The position will require 80-90% travel to various project sites.
You will support our team with the installation, commissioning, and service of our machine and automation systems.
This includes expansion and adaptation to the Siemens control system, considering mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system components.
You will also adapt the PLC safety program based on the risk assessment, integrate and test new software modules for existing and new machine applications, and handle commissioning and testing of all functions.
Additional responsibilities include acceptance and handover of the machine to the customer, operator training, production support, and maintenance and service of existing machines.
Your profile
You are a flexible all-rounder with expertise in industrial automation. Maintaining a high level of accountability and precision, you ensure that our complex machines and systems operate to the satisfaction of our customers.
Experience with machinery and equipment in the Metals Industry and / or cut-to-length and slitting lines is required.
PLC programming experience with SIEMENS PLCs, HMIs, and Drives is essential.
You should have experience in identifying and resolving issues related to electrical and mechanical system components.
A high level of commitment, flexibility, and mobility is expected.
Effective written and oral communication skills are necessary. German language skills are a plus.
