Quality Clerk
Under direction of the Clinic Administrator and Quality Coordinator, the Quality Clerk works in the Ventura County Health Care Agency Primary Care Clinics performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of clinic staff and providers in meeting standards of patient safety and quality care.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on quality improvement projects in a health care environment; experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical workflows (Cerner strongly preferred); strong technical and analytical expertise preparing reports in Excel for leadership, and familiarity with quality programs such as the Healthcare Effectiveness Data Information Set (HEDIS) or Quality Incentive Pool (QIP).
Administrative Assistant II is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and is eligible for overtime compensation. The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and Fixed-Term), Intermittent, and Extra Help vacancies within the Health Care Agency for this and similar positions only.
There is currently one (1) Regular vacancy within Ambulatory Care, supporting the Magnolia Clinic in Oxnard.

An example of qualifying education and experience can be demonstrated through :
Three (3) years of recent, paid professional level experience in the health care industry performing data analysis or quality improvement in a primary care clinic.
OR
Possession of an associate's degree or a Medical Assistant certification AND
One (1) year of recent, paid professional level experience in the health care industry performing data analysis or quality improvement in a primary care clinic.
Substitution : Additional related experience may be substituted for the education on a year for year basis.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience in health care including the use of Electronic Health Record systems.
Effective writing skills must be demonstrated in the completion of the employment application and supplemental questionnaire.
Bilingual skills (English / Spanish);
Experience with quality improvement and metric-based incentive programs such as California's Quality Incentive Program (QIP), or HEDIS;
Experience with improvement science methodologies such as the Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA), Lean Six Sigma including Tests of Change, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA); and
Experience working with Cerner Electronic Health Record System.
